Why I Love Edgewater Miami

Over the years Miami has evolved from a retirement hot spot, to a prime tourist destination, to currently, a place that you not only want to visit, but you also want to live. Many of Miami's neighborhood have undergone massive transformations such as South of Fifth, which use to be a ghost town back in the days. As a local, South Beach was THE place to live, work, and hang out.

But now a new breed of neighborhoods have emerged west of Miami Beach and South Beach and one of them is Edgewater.  It is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Miami and these are the main reasons why I love it:

1. Location.  Edgwater Miami sits beautifully at the edge of Biscayne Bay.  It has some of the most architecturally amazing and new condominium towers, offering units with views as blue and far as the eyes can see.  You can feel the breeze on every street in Edgwater.  It is also the perfect place to feel close but not too close to the heat of the action.

2. Commute. The commute in Edgewater is incredible.  It is close to other major communitites in Miami.  Located just north of the residential and work hub neighborhood of Dowtown Miami where you will find Bayside Marketplace, Bayfront Park, the Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts, The American Airlines Arena, the Miami Central Station, and more.  It is located just East of the Midtown neighborhood with its pedestrian friendly streets filled with shops and resturants.  And Wynwood, where you will find local galeries and trendy cafes.  Its is also just 5 minutes South of the luxurious Design District with its upscale shops and restaurants. If you're in Edgewater, it will take you literally just 7 minutes to get to South Beach and just a few minutes from the airport through the 112. The commute from here is priceless!

3. Atmosphere: As I mentioned before, Edgewater Miami is a place to feel close but not too close to the heat of the action.  You can enjoy the many Mom and Pop shops located throughtout the neighborhood. You can walk to many of the restaurants that are springing up in between streets and along Biscayne Blvd.  You can take a stroll in the beautiful Margaret Pace Park along the bay's edge featuring outdoor fitness facilitites, a dog park, playground for kids, basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts.  You can also sit in one of the benches and enjoy the breeze.  And you can find Publix Supermarket right on 18th Street.

In conclusion, Edgewater is just at the beginning of its transformation.  A once hidden gem along the water's edge.  With its prime location and unique vibe, it is no wonder that developers and entrepenuers alike want to make their mark here.
